Healthy Snack FoodsCome and make healthy snack foods! Each week you will prepare a different snack food each week such as: pizza, granola bars, while working in a small cooperative group. Safe and sanitary food practices, cooking techniques and nutritional information are all embedded in the course. Recipes will be available to take home each week. Taught by Fran Kaplan who holds Masters degrees both in Education, and Occupational Therapy, with a background in teaching Consumer and Family, Foods and Nutrition classes.*Please bring a covered container to each class.Sweet and Savory BakingLearn and practice baking, roasting and oven techniques. Along with prep, measuring, time management. sanitation, etc. you will create new and exciting baked dishes both sweet and savory. From quick breads to baked Mac & cheese, this clinic is perfect for the budding baker.Clinic is taught by Nadine Holohan M.Ed- Culinary based Nutrition teacher and(owner and operator of Hope & Confetti Confections.Cookie ClinicClass for the inner-cookie -loving-monster/cookie baker. Delicious drop, rolled, bar and decorated cookies. Taught by NHS Nutrition teacher and owner/baker of Hope & Confetti ConfectionsPastry ArtsCome whip up sweet based concoctions from crème puffs to cake pops. Along with prep, measuring, time management. sanitation, etc. you will make a variety of doughs. This clinic will delight the pastry artist in training. (Some decorating techniques will be taught as well.)Clinic is taught by Nadine Holohan M.Ed- Culinary based Nutrition teacher and owner and operator of Hope & Confetti Confections.Cooking To Connect Students will learn new recipes that they can use both at home or anywhere they go. They will learn to use different kitchen utensils that they can also use at home. Students will gain social skills, as all of the lessons will be group based activities. They will be telling a story through different spices and add personality while finalizing their dish. Each lesson will be followed by a new theme every week. Students will learn to find their inner chef through the course of the program. Each student will receive a Pineiro’s Kitchen & Café cookbook and guide. The cookbook and guide will have recipes with note sections to allow students to jot down any ideas or questions they may have, during the course of the program. Students will also receive an Award of Completion on the last day of the program.
