Since 1998, the parents of the graduating senior class have sponsored, organized and chaperoned an all-night, substance-free Senior Celebration to allow our graduates to enjoy a safe, fun-filled gathering on graduation day. Since 2012, this event has been run through Newburyport Recreation & Youth Services with a parent committee doing the planning and fund raising (through Port Youth and Rec Foundation) and Rec and Youth Services providing oversight, liability protection and community resources.

The events of the evening are always a surprise for our students. From around 6pm until sunrise, the seniors will be transported to various venues, each with its own theme providing a range of activities and food. It allows the class to have one last night together to celebrate in a safe and engaging way.
