Children's Cooking and Baking Classes - Around the World Cooking Session 2 (Thursdays) Around the World CookingCome and enjoy making foods that have their origin in different countries around the world. We’ll be making dishes from Asia, Latin America, Europe and Middle East to include Main dish, soup, bread and dessert. All recipes will be vegetarian and nut free. Kitchen safety, sanitation and basic cooking skills are emphasized along with nutritional concepts. Cooperative participation is fostered along with an enjoyable, relaxed approach.Fran Kaplan is a former Home Economics teacher with years of experience and who has taught many youth cooking classes for the Newburyport Recreation Department.

Our clinics are led by dedicated high school coaches & varsity volleyball players who bring their skills, experience, and enthusiasm to every session. We cater to players of all skill levels with a focus on essential volleyball skills such as serving, passing, setting, hitting, and defense. Clipper Volleyball Spring Clinic: These sessions will give players of all levels and abilities the opportunity to learn and develop skills to play the game of volleyball. Individualized instruction and effective drills will focus on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Players will benefit from repetition to reinforce skill development and scrimmages to put their skills into action. All sessions will be run by NHS coaches and players.

Moving in the Mornings - Moving in the Mornings (Spring) Moving in the Mornings (Spring)Moving in the mornings is a fantastic way to kick off the day before school. We will enjoy 15 sessions that encourage kids to be active, have fun, and socialize, while improving their skills in basketball, soccer, and big-game play! This routine not only fosters positive habits but also creates a welcoming atmosphere before the school day even begins. We will try to get the kids outside as much as possible. Afterward, we’ll transition the kids into their classes or breakfast, ensuring a smooth start to their day!

Bresnahan Green Team - Winter Bresnahan Green Team- Tuesdays Join Mrs. Harding on the Bresnahan Green Team! Green Team is open to 3rd grade students who have a passion for taking care of the environment! Students will continue to build upon the work of former Green Team members in our efforts to make Bresnahan a truly "green school" ! Through hands-on projects and data collection, we will learn about composting, recycling, and waste reduction. Students will serve as "Sustainability Stewards" and work as leaders to help educate our wider school community.

Morning Run Club at The Bres - Spring Run Club (AM at the Bres) Join Mr. Valli, Mrs. Spinney, and members of the high school track team for the Morning Run Club at The Bres on Mondays and Wednesdays. Through games and activities, the club will gradually and safely build up to longer running distances while having fun in a welcoming and supportive environment. Everyone will learn the fundamentals of running while setting goals for both the club and themselves. Each participant will receive a Running Club t-shirt before the end of the program. We will be preparing for the Derek Hines Flag Day 5K!

Music Rocks - Music Rocks 25/26 Join Miss Claudia at the Congregational Church as we sing and dance our way through early literacy embedded in music and movement. Newburyport Aikido - Children's Aikido Session 4 Newburyport Aikido During Aikido classes, children practice the art of receivingtechniques: rolling, falling, “feeling the body.” Students also learn the art of performing Aikido techniques on partners. We do not practice hitting, kicking or punching. Instead we encourage the development of body and spatial awareness, focus, perseverance, mind and body connectivity. Aikido builds self-confidence and resilience.Above all else, it is a fun way of playing with friends while being physically active.
