Through games and activities, the club will gradually and safely build up to longer running distances while having fun in a welcoming and supportive environment. Everyone will learn the fundamentals of running while setting goals for both the club and themselves. Each participant will receive a Running Club t-shirt before the end of the program. We will be preparing for the Derek Hines Flag Day 5K!

STEAM Art Club - STEAM Art Club K-1 We are offering a new Kid’s STEAM Art program that combines the fun and creativity of art and the problem solving of STEM! This 6 week course will be a fun, engaging way for kids to be creative and learn at the same time. We will create new projects in each class that will spark creativity, thinking, and problem solving. We guide kids through hands-on creative processes, but ultimately the kids will be doing all of the crafting and building on their own! Cribbage Club- Cards, Counting and Classic Fun! - Cribbage Club- Cards, Counting and Classic Fun Join the Cribbage Club after school with Mrs. Gasbarro and learn a cool, classic card game that’s been played for generations! Students in grade 3 will build math fluency as they practice counting, adding, and thinking strategically — all while having hands-on, screen-free fun with friends. Cribbage helps strengthen number sense, mental math, and problem-solving skills in an exciting, game-based way. No experience needed, just bring your curiosity and get ready to shuffle, count, and peg your way to victory!

STEAM Art Club - STEAM Art Club Grades 2 and 3 We are offering a new Kid’s STEAM Art program that combines the fun and creativity of art and the problem solving of STEM! This 6 week course will be a fun, engaging way for kids to be creative and learn at the same time. We will create new projects in each class that will spark creativity, thinking, and problem solving. We guide kids through hands-on creative processes, but ultimately the kids will be doing all of the crafting and building on their own! Not only will kids make unique projects that will make them proud, our hands-on, fun STEAM-based crafting classes also focus on developing must-have skills for the future.

Clipper Volleyball - Elite Middle School Girls Volleyball Looking to improve your volleyball skills or just have fun on the court? Our clinics are led by dedicated high school coaches & varsity volleyball players who bring their skills, experience, and enthusiasm to every session. We cater to players of all skill levels with a focus on essential volleyball skills such as serving, passing, setting, hitting, and defense. The goal is to create a positive, supportive environment where everyone can improve at their own pace and gain confidence on the court.Elite Middle School Girls Volleyball ProgramFor dedicated 6th–8th grade girls ready to level up their gameThis program is designed for players with prior volleyball experience who are serious about the court and motivated to improve. Athletes will focus on skill development, game strategy, and competitive play in a focused, high-energy environment.This is not a beginner program—players should come ready to work, be coached, and push themselves and their teammates.Spots are limited. Clipper Volleyball Spring Clinic: These sessions will give players of all levels and abilities the opportunity to learn and develop skills to play the game of volleyball. Individualized instruction and effective drills will focus on passing, setting, hitting, and serving. Players will benefit from repetition to reinforce skill development and scrimmages to put their skills into action. All sessions will be run by NHS coaches and players.

The Youth Council programs are open to all youth in the community grades 6-12.When does the group meet?The Youth Council Events Committee (grades 6-8) meets Thursdays 3:30-4:30pm at the NYS Spot, located at 64 Purchase Street. The Senior Youth Council (grades 7-12) meets at the Newburyport Public Library Thursdays at 5:30-6:30pm. Updates and location changes can be found through our whatsapp group chat. Email tluciano@newburyportma.gov with questions or to join the chat.What do they do?Youth Council programs, with support from NYS staff, work on various projects, campaigns, and events that have the goal of improving the community for the youth and/or families. What that looks like is up to the groups involved and can vary based on interest. Bring your suggestions and ideas!Who runs the group?The Youth Council is a youth-led group, supported by NYS Staff.Now introducing...Youth Council Events Committee.
